Belamba Imports
Like any foreign breed, the gene pool and quality in Britain relies upon imports. In the past, with 6 months quarantine, this meant a great amount of expense, not to mention the worry and stress of watching your puppy suffer solitary confinement for half a year.
We were very lucky with our imports, three became champions and Dollar hit the high spots and gained a RCC, as did L’Aber.
Why I don’t know, but imports seemed to attract more attention than homebred puppies! People were quick to condemn imports, but equally quick to want to use them.
It wasn’t always easy to persuade overseas breeders to send puppies to this country, when they had to stay in quarantine for such a long time.

I would like to thank Sharon Redmer (Starbright), Sanne Mikkelsen (Norrevang) and Yves & Martine Leteneur for sending us dogs in spite of quarantine.
Also thanks go to Brigitte Ouhlen for keeping L’Aber for us for 9 months, and the Pichon family for keeping Morgane for 1 year, so that they could both come in under the Balai Directive.
